With the Raven 12.9, TW Acustic expands its tonearm family with an uncompromising reference model designed for the highest standards of analog music reproduction. Engineered for maximum tracking accuracy, minimal tracking error, and absolute sonic authenticity, the 12.9 combines the proven design philosophy of its smaller siblings with the inherent advantages of a long 12.9-inch tonearm.
Like every Raven tonearm, the 12.9 follows a straightforward, functional design philosophy free from unnecessary complexity. Its precision-engineered bearing housing, equipped with carefully selected ball bearings, ensures exceptionally low friction, allowing the cartridge to retrieve even the finest musical information from the record groove with complete accuracy. The highly rigid, black anodized aluminum arm tube provides outstanding control while effectively suppressing unwanted resonances.
With an effective length of 327.76 mm, the Raven 12.9 significantly reduces tracking error compared to shorter tonearm designs, creating the ideal conditions for a remarkably effortless, natural, and spacious musical presentation. At the same time, its effective mass of 18 grams has been carefully optimized for real-world performance, offering excellent compatibility with a wide range of high-quality moving-coil cartridges.
The Raven 12.9 incorporates convenient on-the-fly VTA adjustment as well as precise azimuth alignment via its rotatable headshell, allowing every critical parameter to be optimized with ease. A magnetic anti-skating system and a thoughtfully engineered counterweight assembly complete an operating concept that combines absolute precision with exceptional ease of use.
